Fierce Project
What defines an image being Fierce?
I believe that a fierce photo displays confidence. It is where the model feels poised and assertive in the image. A viewer may feel be intimidated when viewing. I believe that this expression could be shown through bold colors and making daring choices in their pose/action. The idea of a fierce image can be interpreted in a different way by each viewer.

Blurred Vision
This photo was inspired by the photographer. She had the intention of making the photo blurry so one would focus on the shading rather than the facial features of the person. Though the photo is blurry, you still can tell that the person is staring at you with a nonchalant expressing that seems intimidating. I solarized this photo by positioning the model at different areas of the paper and used different amounts of time for each photo. The one that is more present had 3.7 seconds and I decreased the time for about a third for the other two.

Radiating Energy
This image was posed by me. I wanted to use my scream as my center of attention. The scream is used to project the endless and passionate emotion of rage. I used photoshop to edit this photo by adding an illumination around me. I also included fading curves to represent the power that my scream has to deteriorate the curves. I used to smudge tool to blend in the colors, so the image does not look rigid.

What Defines Reality?
This photo was taken by me in 2020. I used two layers of cyanotype for this image and let it stay in the sun for 15 minutes. The image displays that the sky is no longer present and seem like it was washed away. Which makes one question our existence and the world and reflects a fierce effect.

Wispy Skies
This photo was taken by me in 2020. I used the two layers pink cyanotype and let it stay in the sun for 12 minutes. I used the same negative as the one in the "What Defines Reality" image. Since it is the same image, it displays the fierceness that was in the other image but through a new lens.

Say Cheese
This photo was thought of by the model. She wanted to switch positions of the viewer and the model. She wanted to be the photographer while the viewers are the models. It shows that she is in control of this piece.

Strike a Pose
This image was posed by the model. I asked the model to make a pose that made her feel confident and this was the result. Though she is cheerful in the photo her actions are similar to poses cheerleaders make. I reflect the pose to cheerleaders because they are assertive of their actions and show their fierceness through their performance.

Smile
This photo was thought of by the model. It is the same photo as the "Say Cheese" photo except that this is a solarized image. The intention of this photo was to show that the model is in control. She had to camera and was in the process of taking a photo of the model which in this perspective would be the viewer. There is an emphasis of power from the model because the viewer has to figure out which camera to look at. It's similar to when you are taking pictures and multiple people have cameras out and you don't know which one to look at.

Leap Of Faith
This image was posed by the model and was made in 2022. I had the idea of jumping of a platform to express my determination and fierceness. I displayed that I was not worried about the outcome from this jump. I used photoshop on this image to make the photo in black and white rather than keeping it in color.

What Are You Looking At?
In this photo, I was the model. This was inspired by me when it was taken in August of 2022. The idea was to look at the sky with no fear of what was taking place. This is my altered reality image. I tried to smudge and rearrange the sky to look like a type of loophole. I wanted to include an eye in the loophole so that it seems like the eye trying to show off fierceness by looking down at me as I feel intimidated by the eye.

Identity
In this photo, I used pieces of tape and made cut of letters to say, "Who Are U?". I also incorporated scissors into my image. The idea was to make one ask who they think they are as a person and to question their identity. The part where I believe fierceness can be detected is when the image is asking a bold question to the audience about themselves.
